HKFiftyOne – Depechemode

The song ‘Depechemode’ by rap artist HKFifityOne is a typical slow dope rap track. In the song there is a reference to the melody of ‘Enjoy The Silence’, played over an acoustic guitar sample in the loop. Furthermore, of course, the title of the song which can be found in the lyric line “I’m big stunting like I’m depeche mode”. The song is taken from the 2020s EP “Gothpop”.

Personal note: I question the meaningfulness of the lyrics!

Lyrics of “HKFiftyOne – Depechemode”

You can catch me with the 40
Backwoods cause I travel like I’m Morty
In the woods gettin’ boring
Gotta keep that fuckin’ thang on me
Wake up in the morning, I
Been too cold, watch me pull up in the snow
With my crossbow, keep it silent
Hit you through the bone
I know you hit me on the phone
Babygirl I’m sorry
I been gettin’ to da dough
I’m too ill, you could catch a fucking cold
I got big talk shawty
It just how I gotta roll
I’m big stunting like I’m depeche mode
Got that goth-pop bumpin’
Babe I got the antidote

You don’t really know how I feel
I’ve been chugging every day
I keep it secret for real
You, been lost, but you know I could feel
I been in this shit forever, so
You know I’m right here, yeah

You can catch me with the 40
Backwoods cause I travel like I’m Morty
In the woods gettin’ boring
Gotta keep that fuckin thang on me
Wake up in the morning, I
Been too cold, watch me pull up in the snow
With my crossbow, keep it silent
Hit you through the bone
I know you hit me on the phone
Babygirl I’m sorry
I been gettin’ to da dough
I’m too ill, you could catch a fucking cold
I got big talk shawty
It just how I gotta roll
I’m big stunting like I’m depeche mode
Got that goth-pop bumpin’
Babe I got the antidote

You don’t really know how I feel
I’ve been chugging every day
I keep it secret for real
You, been lost, but you know how I feel
I been in this shit forever, so
You know I’m right here, yeah

Started in the late 70s with minimal electro band Kraftwerk and become a real synth pop fan through Depeche Mode's hit 'People Are People' in 1984.

I took over the depechemodecovers.com website in 2024 and relaunched it. As a big fan of Depeche Mode and cover versions, I dedicate myself passionately to this project.
